Dear Friend,
We are glad that you are interested in adopting one of the many children who are waiting for adoptive families of their own. To become someone's son or daughter is the finest thing that could happen to any of these children. We are inclosing information on many aspects of adoption.
SEEUS is not an adoption agency, so we do not provide application services. We are the southeast regional photolisting of children waiting for adoption and we publish a book featuring waiting children from seven southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missisippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. We do not place children, nor do we have them in our care.
Questions often asked by prospective parents:
How do I adopt a child?
In order to adopt a child you must contact an adoption agency in your state and complete an application, classes and an adoption study.
How do I find an adoption agency?
If you are in the southeast region, we enclose a list of references for your state. We have listed adoption agencies, adoptive support groups, state adoption services and adoption exchanges.
It can cost little to give a child your name. In fact, for children with some kinds of handicaps, there is monthly financial help and/or coverage for medical expenses. Financial help may depend on your income.
We hope this information will be helpful to you. Please contact us again if we can be further service. One concerned person can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these waiting children.
Sincerely,
Anna M. Filippetti
Exec. Director
